A New TAICHI Version 2.004 Firmware Upgrade

HIFIMAN is pleased to announce a new TAICHI Version 2.004 firmware upgrade. It is now being used in our HM650, HM802, HM901, HM802U, HM901U and HM901s.

Firmware is the lifeblood of smart products including our high-res portable players. We take feedback from the field along with our own findings and update our firmware as often as possible to make our players perform at their best.

HIFIMAN is pleased to announce a new TAICHI Version 2.004 firmware upgrade. It is now being used in our HM650, HM802, HM901, HM802U, HM901U and HM901s.

Additionally, all of these models can now play music in DSD format (Direct Stream Digital, which includes DFF and DSF files). Another new feature is that 802, 802U and 650 are now able to play sampling rate up to 176.4 KHz.

Note that for 802, 802U and 650 while playing DSD file, it is necessary to press "Pause" before pressing “BACK" or "HOME".

Firmware Update Instruction
1. Please download the new firmware zip file first and then copy it to your SD card (Do not change the name of the firmware file or decompress it). Only the FAT32 SD card can be used.
2. While pressing the HOME button, hold the Power key up until the HM-901 is power on. After the screen is on, release the power key. Then release the HOME button until the hifiman logo disappears. Now the player will be in recovery mode.
3. Wait until the first picture shows on the screen. The system will be updated automatically.
4. After the update is done, power off the player and then reboot it to finish the whole process.
